I had the distinct pleasure recently to take a moment away from ALL the crazy in my life and just breathe! It was amazing and necessary and in my backyard! Well not directly in my backyard but exactly 1.5 hrs away tucked in the in the hills of DFW is the beautiful Honey Hollow Ranch and Runaway Bay Golf Resort in Runaway Bay, TX.
As a mom of 3 and business owner sneaking out of town for some “me time” often seems virtually impossible. There’s the sitter, the travel plans, the business stuff that has to get done before I leave, teacher communication, and the list could go on. That’s why staycations are so much better! Close enough to home to handle all of your needs and responsibilities and far enough away to feel like I’ve escaped life as I know it.
Honey Hollow was not only a beautiful destination perfect for weddings, family reunions, and events. It had an intimacy that made the location perfect for romantic gatherings and couples retreats.
Not only did the inside of the resort feel like a dream, the grounds were perfect for an afternoon walk, coffee on the deck, or just lounging around by the pool and fireplace.
The best part about the resort, it was immaculate and filled with all of the trimmings to make it feel like home. With the intimate setting couples or families could stay here, bring their own food and drinks and never have to leave the resort except for the golf course maybe. Which was located about 1 mile away.
Runaway Bay Golf Resort featured beautiful grounds overlooking the hills and countryside with an onsite golf center that features a fitness room, golf shop, restaurant and bar. I toured the grounds and had a delicious lunch the menu featured an array of American Fare perfect for any guests. 
Not only did they offer an amazing golf course but there were stay and play packages that would serve as a perfect gift for the man in your life, father’s day weekends, bachelor parties, or men’s retreats.
As a first timer at Honey Hollow I will say I was really impressed and grateful for the opportunity. I can’t wait to return with my family or just hubby and I for a weekend getaway.
